PBA Moto Club to play in Dubai

-

In Filipino basketball lingo, “Dayo” refers to a visiting basketball team eager to challenge the local team of the place they are visiting. In simple words, it’s an away team seeking to compete against the home team. On September 30, basketball fans in Dubai will be witnessing Dayo, as basketball superstars group PBA Moto Club plays OG Dayo at Shabab Al Ahli FC, in Al Qusais, Dubai.

What is PBA Moto Club

PBA Moto Club is a collective of former PBA stars who have ventured into moto-vlogging. They are presently traveling across the Philippines and other countries to play against local teams in entertaining yet competitive exhibition games.

Led by Rico Maeirhofer and Jayjay Helterbrand, the group has established a good following on their YouTube channel, boasting nearly half a million subscribers as of late. In their vlogs, they not only capture the excitement of their games but also share insightful discussions brimming with wise and, at times, witty takeaways from their basketball experiences. Frequently, their conversations are rich with lessons that basketball imparts to all of us.

Their vlogs lately are about Gilas Pilipinas’ infamous journey during the FIBA World Cup in Manila and the recently concluded PBA draft.

These guys are geniuses. If you’re a big fan of the sport, you would love listening to their analysis of the game—on and off the court.

Who are the players coming

Joining Rico Maierhofer and Jayjay Helterbrand are Marc Pingris, Mac Cardona, JC Intal, Doug Kramer, Jerwin Gaco, Willie Miller, Cyrus Baguio, Billy Mamaril, Ryan Arana, KG Canaleta, and an “import” from MPBL, Poypoy Actub.

PBA Moto Club is loaded. We’re talking about 2 PBA MVPs (Helterbrand and Miller), 5x PBA All-Star Slamdunk Champ (KG Canaleta), MIPs, PBA Mythical Team members, former Gilas national team players, and multiple-time All-Stars, among others.

Who is OG Dayo?

OG Dayo is no stranger to the spotlight. This team is one of the first basketball squads to document their provincial travels and games through vlogs. The group is composed of former players from Mavs Phenomenal Basketball Team.

Most notable on the squad is the newly drafted Kyt Jimenez, whom fans are looking forward to seeing playing in a Beermen uniform, albeit being picked 76th overall (9th round).
