Barbecue Night at Rose Rayhaan Rotana

-

It was a sumptuous dinner last Friday night – a barbecue by the pool at Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, a family friendly, alcohol-free hotel.

The 72-storey Rose Rayhaan by Rotana at 1,093 ft. is the second tallest hotel in the world. On Fridays, its restaurants are closed but a barbecue night happens at the 4th floor pool area overlooking Dubai International Financial Centre, The Rolex Tower and Emirates Towers.

It looks like a typical buffet setup – Arabic mezze & salad bar, the mains and dessert, and of course the grill station.

A good selection of seafood and meat is available at the grill: Spiced Chicken Breast, Rosemary Steeped Beef Tournados, Lamb Kofta, Sheesh Taouk, Garlic & Kaffir Lime Marinated Prawns, Dill & Mustard Steeped Fish Skewers, Grilled Baby Sherry, and Grilled Baby Snapper.

The prawns and fish skewers are my favorites. They’re very tasty even without the dipping sauce. The succulent beef and lamb were still juicy despite being on the serving plate for quite some time already. I like grilled fish as well but the deboning part makes it uninteresting if you’re seated in a semi-formal table.

The weather could be perfect for this terrace dining, but it is not friendly on the plate though if you’re on for chit-chats on the table – your food could get chilly as quickly.

Barbecue night, one of Rayhaan Rotana’s themed dinner, happens every Friday from 7 – 10:30pm at AED155 inclusive of beverages.

Here are the different themes happening daily, prices inclusive of beverages:

Sunday, Arabian Night – AED 125
Monday, Surf and Turf – AED 145
Tuesday, Mediterranean – AED 145
Wednesday, Flavours of Asia – AED 125
Thursday, Fisherman’s Night – AED 155
Friday, Barbecue Night – AED 155
Saturday, International Favourites – AAED 125
