The travel from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and vice versa may be reduced dramatically to 30 minutes. Thanks to the thought of commuting through an electric “Superbus” – dubbed as the next-generation solution to the inter-Emirates commute. The project was apparently presented during the Commercial Vehicles Middle East exhibition in Dubai March this year.
The midnight-blue “bus” is 15 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 1.65 meters high. It has 8 gullwing-style doors on each side. It travels at a whooping speed of 250 kph. There is a plan to create another racetrack, err, highway lane to accommodate a 250kph high-speed. Think F1.
It is made of lightweight materials including aluminium, carbon fibre, fibreglass and polycarbonate, and weighs just 9,500kg fully loaded.
The vehicle would carry up to 23 passengers only, but in levels of comfort that they say would be comparable to traveling in a Sedan.
