Twestival Local is once again in Dubai. It’s happening on 24th of March Thursday at Intercontinental Dubai Festival City.
As some of you already aware, Twestivals are all about ‘Tweet.Meet.Give’ and that’s exactly what the last three Twestivals have been about. Twestival Global held in February 2009 resulted in 202 participating and raising over US $250,000 for Charity: Water leading to 55 wells built in Ethiopia, India and Uganda.
Meanwhile, in September 2009, 130 cities joined in Twestival Local 2009 to support causes that were closer to home – in our case, Dubai Autism Centre. Collectively, over US $450,000 was raised worldwide to support 135 local charities. With the spotlight on education, 175 cities participated in Twestival GLobal 2010 in March 2010 and raised over $400,000 which has been distributed between Malawi, Liberia, Haiti and Burundi.
This year, we’re going ‘Local’ again and it’s now time to get cracking for the next Twestival Local scheduled to take place on Thursday, 24 March 2011.
