What is Expo2020 and Why We Should Support Dubai’s Bid?

-

As we already know, UAE is bidding to host the World Expo 2020 in Dubai. World Expos happens every five years and is a key meeting point for the global community to share innovations and make progress on issues of international importance such as the global economy, sustainable development and improved quality of life for the world’s population.

In every expo, millions of visitors troop the city to explore and discover cultural and modern pavilions, exhibitions and cultural events organized by local and international participants, organisations and businesses.

As a catalyst for economic, cultural and social transformation, I am encouraging everyone to support Dubai’s bid as it will surely generate important legacies for the emirate, the UAE.

“Connecting minds. Creating the future” sounds like a perfect fit theme for the emirate. Dubai being a popular melting pot, has always proven that multicultural connections create wonders.

In today’s highly interconnected world, a renewed vision of progress and development based on shared purpose and commitment is key. While a single human mind, an individual country, or a specific community is both unique and remarkable, it is by working collaboratively that we truly advance.

A win in the bid will give the world a testament that Dubai, and the UAE is one of the front runners in terms of innovation and leadership.
A win will attract millions of visitors in the years leading towards 2020. Increase in business and trade are also in the books. That will just mean one quick obvious thing, hundred thousands of job opportunities will be created.
A win will mark the first time that an Arab nation will host the event.
In my next post, I will elaborate what winning the bid means for us living in Dubai.
You too can support the bid. Click here to find out how.
