I commend the RTA for implementing a free bottled water for its passengers. Especially most of the bus terminals are uncovered (like that near Union Metro Station in Deira), it’s just appropriate for the transport officials to care for the dehydrating commuters. But passengers must be polite to drink before boarding the bus – as RTA strictly implements a No Food and Drinks policy in any of their transportation modes.
Climb for Cancer lauched to generate funds for treatment of 2 kids
Climb for Cancer in a non-profit initiative that encourages amateur hikers & adventure enthusiasts to climb mountain peaks around the world in an effort to raise money for children suffering from cancer. Climbers’ fund their own trip and are responsible for covering all their personal costs themselves including tickets, equipment, and hiking expenses. This ensures that 100% of the donations raised goes towards the treatment of the cancer patients we are supporting.
For transparency purposes, donations are made directly to the affiliated hospital or Cancer Center and Climb for Cancer does not get involved in these financials, or any other transactions whatsoever. C4C simply provide you with a fun & challenging way of helping children suffering from cancer.
With Mt. Kilimanjaro as its first challenge, Climb for Cancer will see a small group of enthusiasts take the inaugural trip in September 2010, set to last 9 days. Mt Kilamanjaro, which rises 5,895 metres into the Tanzanian skyline is Africa’s highest peak, and the world’s tallest free-standing mountain. This climb and those to follow in forthcoming years, will not only be an adventure exercised to raise awareness and funds for a worthy cause, but also a journey of self-discovery and personal test for those who have chosen to undertake this rewarding challenge.

Why media in the Philippines blur brands on the background?
I’m not a Communication graduate, nor Journalism nor an Advertising professional. I am just sharing an observation… Why does Philippine TV blurs any brands which were ‘accidentally’ captured by their cameras? It is evident when they are soewhere with billboards in the background; or when a label of a product is in the frame (like Supermarkets). Foreign media never does that (Or I just haven’t seen yet?). And why is it also that they can’t mention brands and “proper names” when newscasting? Like they
Like: “Isang nakawan ang naganap sa isang SIKAT NA MALL sa Quezon City.” or “Hinihingan pa sa ngayon ng komento ang may-ari ng NASABING ENERGY DRINK.”
